Monica Amorosi, LMHC, CCTP, NCC, is one of Unfilteredd’s go-to experts for information about narcissism and narcissistic abuse.

She works closely with Juliana and Elijah to ensure Unfilteredd’s content is accurate, actionable, inclusive, and trustworthy.

Monica has a deeply personal connection to interpersonal violence, having experienced it firsthand in her family during her formative years and later in her first serious romantic relationship. 

These experiences have undoubtedly shaped her understanding and approach to related issues. 

Monica practices at Clarity Therapy in New York City. 

She’s nationally recognized as a certified counselor by the NBCC and has specialized certification in trauma from the IATP.

She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of Saint Rose in 2018. 

She had hands-on clinical experience during her internship with individuals involved in domestic violence cases. 

In 2014, she completed her Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Brockport, majoring in Psychology and Health Science. 

In her pre-clinical work, Monica worked directly with children directly affected or displaced due to interpersonal violence. 

She participated in family reunification through the foster care system and community re-building for families who were building a life away from a harmful member. 

In her counseling experience, she has facilitated safe family therapy for families impacted by violence and has provided clinical intervention to convicted perpetrators of violence.

Currently, she delivers intensive trauma therapy through somatic therapy, DBT, ACT, and attachment therapy. 

Last but certainly not least, Monica has been offering educational and consultation services since 2019. 

Monica has presented over 25 times on the connection between trauma and learning, delivering content directly to K-12 public schools in NYS. 

She was the Keynote speaker to a local district of 1,100+ staff. 

She has also developed and delivered a 10-week trauma recovery group, which she has facilitated since 2020.
