Low Self-Esteem? Try This!
If you’ve ever had a narcissist in your life, one thing you might be struggling with is low self-esteem.
Here are three things you can do to change that:
1.) Practice Being Assertive
For example, if someone cuts in front of you in line, you could calmly say, “Excuse me, I believe I was next,” instead of staying silent.
2.) Practice Accepting Compliments
When someone compliments you, you could respond with a clear and simple “Thank you” without downplaying or deflecting it.
3.) Practice Setting Boundaries
For example, if a friend insists you stay out late but you’re tired, say, “I need to head home now, but let’s catch up another time.”
All three of these—being assertive, accepting compliments, and setting boundaries—will help you improve your self-esteem.
When you practice being assertive, you show that your voice matters.
When you accept compliments, you see yourself in a more positive light.
When you set boundaries, you show that your needs deserve respect.
If you practice these actions consistently, they’ll strengthen your sense of self-worth and improve your self-esteem.
All the best,
Juliana
