She achieved her doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) in 2014 from Wright State University and completed her postdoctoral residency at Palm Beach County Youth Services in Palm Beach, Florida.
Her training and research have spanned from helping teenage mothers in foster care learn to adequately parent, to identity development in women suffering skin color discrimination, to substance dependence and narcissistic abuse.
During her years working with inpatient clients in recovery from substance dependence, Dr Hurt’s research on codependence led to the creation of her program Relationship Recovery. Her book “Quick Chats” helps partners dive deeper into the real questions which build a stronger bond and brings relationships closer is available at https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/quick-chats-ch-raquel-hurt-psyd/1142674084.
