Emma is a Holistic and Integrative Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a private practice in Vermont She offers individual counseling and offers a variety of retreats and workshops throughout the year. She uses a Person-centered, Trauma-Informed approach that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual.  Her goal is to provide a safe space for others to get to know themselves on a more intimate level, and to be a witness of their journey towards authentic change and transformation.

The approach and techniques she applies within the counseling relationship  include concepts from Mindfulness Theory, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strength-Based, Guided Imagery, Breath work, Relationship Building concepts, Sound Healing and more.

The integration of these approaches and theories provides a space that enables each individual to feel empowered to be an active participant throughout the process. A space in which they feel safe to make choices, to lead the process, and to work together with her in a collaborative relationship. Through this authentic relationship, people gain the opportunity to connect with themselves and others in a deeper, more profound way.

Emma believes that everyone has the capacity to heal through building a deep authentic relationship with the self and others. It is through these connections that an inner knowing is discovered. This inner knowing is the foundation for building and creating our desired state of being. Integrating our past and future into the present is an essential component for obtaining overall positive well-being. Life experiences and social conditioning can cause us to detach from our innate emotional experiences. Through self-exploration in a safe relationship, these emotions can be fully experienced and integrated, resulting in a positive state of well-being.

In order to hold a safe, compassionate, and healing space for others, Emma prioritizes her own self-care, personal growth, and personal development outside of the therapy office.  Some of the healing methods she has found to be personally transformative include energy work, spiritual exploration, somatic experiencing, sound healing, singing and dance. These methods have allowed her to gain a better understanding of who she is, and to learn more about ways in which she can contribute to the collective healing of all beings. She believes that this continued process allows her to be present and empathetic to those with whom she works and those who she encounters in her daily life.
