Monica Amorosi

LICENSED PSYCHOTHERAPIST

Monica Amorosi is a trained trauma therapist who pulls her clinical style from ACT, DBT, somatic therapy, and attachment therapy. She is action-based in helping clients improve their overall functioning while exploring their personal stories.

Monica helps people build insight, develop self-compassion, and improve their capacity for life. She utilizes active skills like coping practice, communication skills, and psychoeducation. She also uses more humanistic approaches such as empowerment, clinical soothing, and unconditional regard.

Monica has experience working with the full spectrum of interpersonal violence. Starting in the field, she initially worked with children displaced from their homes due to domestic abuse or impoverished conditions. In her initial clinical work, she provided treatment to adult perpetrators of abuse, giving her insight into what drives abusive or narcissistic behaviors. Over time, her work shifted to address complex trauma for the most vulnerable victims of abuse.

She has helped people escape violent situations, establish better functioning, and work towards rebuilding a healthy life after abuse. She is passionate about community-level healing and creating worlds that feel safer for the most vulnerable.
