Paula Timon, LCSW, has been a licensed clinician for more than twenty years and has focused on trauma for the duration of her career. She has worked with children, teens, and adults in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry and substance abuse programs. Paula’s passion lies with trauma, sexual abuse/sexual assault survivors, relational/narcissistic abuse survivors and C-PTSD. Paula’s early private practice focused on utilizing DBT with chronically suicidal/self-injurious behaviors associated with dysregulation resulting from C-PSDT.

Paula has experience teaching at the graduate level in social work/MSW programs, and this work, along with training social work/MFT interns honors her commitment to training and supporting the next generation of therapists.

A survivor herself, in the past several years, Paula has synthesized her passion for trauma work into working with the devastating effects of narcissistic/hidden abuse, a pervasive yet often neglected issue in the larger mental health field. Paula helps guide clients in identifying and leaving these relationships, rebuilding their lives, helping them resolve trauma/complex trauma, and heal the issues that lead survivors to being vulnerable to this form of abuse.
Paula is a co-founder of Hidden Abuse Network, an organization which seeks to bring resources and information to survivors, develop evidence-based clinical protocol to help survivors heal from these relationships/C-PTSD, help train therapists to identify this abuse, and to advocate for systemic change in law enforcement, family courts, and family law attorneys.
