Meet Alexandra Skinner Walsh

She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor from Iowa and will be hosting our next Q&A on August 19th, 2024 at 12:00-01:15 PM Eastern Time (US & Canada).

Questions She’ll Be Answering

  • Does it depend on a person’s attachment style or is trauma bonding the same across the board for everyone? I feel like each of us have varying degrees of it.
  • How do I know if it is a trauma bond or love?
  • When we think of trauma bonding, we tend to relate it only to our relationships with people. What are some ways trauma bonding can affect other aspects of our daily lives? For example, our relationships with food, thrills and risks, security, the law, money, vices, employment, etc.
  • How can I tell if my trauma bond in my adult relationship is connected to my experiences in my childhood?
  • Why is my mind/brain looping around all our fights and ugly verbal abuse since I left? Why do I have periods of mental blackouts of what happened as well?
  • How difficult is it to break trauma bonds on your own with no help from any friends or family?
